I have been through this with one of mine. We presume he had gotten
ECE without the green poop stage and just took months to recover. Have
you done a blood test? It's a good idea just to see if anything
abnormal is going on. The flat-ferret routine could indicate low
energy from mild anemia, low blood sugar, or just plain poor
digestion. My ferret had a mild anemia that actually seems to be
correcting itself very slowly.

I am not a vet, but in my opinion, he is likely ok. Just watch him to
see if any other symptoms pop up. The GI problems indicated by the
grainy poop can take a long time to clear up. And, as I said, a CBC
wouldn't hurt if you can afford it.
