Subject: Insulinoma

I took my two 7 yr olds in last week for glucose checks.
Giesela had a 70 which my vet said was borderline. After reading stuff on
Mike's website (thank you to all you list owners and website owners for the
great work you do!)
I guess its a little below.
Here are my questions after reading up.
I woke them up and didn't leave them there to fast - so I can't be 100%
about how long it'd been since they
ate, pretty sure not much for 3 hours. How much could the numbers be off?
(Right now the main symptom - which just hugely accelerated
since the test(?) is sleeping, sleeping, sleeping.
Sleeping that much means not eating much. And you
can tell she needs to eat after she gets up - she still wants to go outside
but can't enjoy it till after she comes back in and gets some food)

Apparently Pediapred etc. will quit working at some point? Weeks? Months?
Year? Absolutely no way to know?
While otherwise seeming pretty healthy at 7 I'm reluctant to do surgery.
She had a fairly extensive blockage surgery at about a year old (vet left
one piece of 5 pieces of rubber in and had to go back in) and 2 years ago
had an adrenal tumor taken out. At any rate I certainly won't ruin her
summer - she LIVES to go OUTSIDE and HUNT (not anything illegal mind). Who
knows how many more she has? (I live in Michigan).
Any specific advice welcome - I have not started any particular treatment.
