Subject: Help..

My ferret Codey has been in the hospital since Monday on an IV and
medications, under veternarians care.
We thought at first it was IBD since he's had diarrhea for a week and
has refused to eat since last Friday. I had been force feeding him at
home and giving sub-q's to keep him hydrated. His blood work on Monday
showed
bun=126
creatinine=4.3
phosporous=13
Yesterday's readings were
bun=127
creatinine=5.1
He's getting worse instead of better.
There are no tumors or enlarged organs and she drew fluid out of the
spleen to test for lymposarcoma. It was negative. He's alert but nothing
is helping the diarrhea. He is getting Flagyl, Pepcid, and penicillin by
injection and being fed a/d pet food and given something similar to
nutrical.
He has been urinatingo his own.
Is there anything that she could give him to stop the diarrhea and bring
down those high bun readings? Any ideas as to what could be happeningto
him? If he is in renal failure is it possible to save his life? Any help
and guidance would be greatfully appreciated.
Thank you,
Carol
