Subject: Front leg paralysis, then death.
I wonder if anyone could shed any light on the mysterious death of an 8
month old albino hob?
We had 6 hobs all living together very happily at the rescue centre. They
had been together for about 10 days, when suddenly this little albino boy,
was discovered paralysed in his front legs. His breathing appeared normal,
but he just couldn't use his front legs. (hind legs seemed perfectly normal)
He was put into a carrier and prepared for the trip to the vets, but before
he was taken, he died. On close inspection by one of the staff at the
rescue shelter, he was found to have one very tiny red puncture wound on the
back of his neck. Could one small bite from another ferret have caused his
death, or is it likely to be something totally unrelated? If so, then what
could have actually happened?
Many thanks
Carol
ps, there was no post mortem performed.
