Hi, everyone,

Holly, I am sorry your ferret did not survive a second adrenal surgery. Surgery is always a risk. Yes, you had a horrible experience, but many ferrets do very well long term after a second surgery. Pertwee has been bilateral for two years now. He's over his last mystery ailment and is my most active and bouncy fert.

Surgery is the *only* cure for adrenal disease. Anything else masks symptoms. I understand that there are ferrets who are not good surgical candidates, but to dissuade someone who has an otherwise strong and healthy fert against a second adrenal surgery is a *really bad* idea.

All the best,
Caity and the notorious nine
