You can use scents to help her. Some people use extracts for baking.
We typically use scented oils in hopes that they will be less likely
to harm woods. There are herbal, fruit, wood, and some safe flowers
which can be put on furniture, door frames, etc.

That sounds like her medication doses possibly need adjustment or
Proglycem needs to be added to the medication mix (which happens
somewhere along the line when controlling by medical approach). As
insulinoma worsens it is harder to control so dosing changes. Those
two meds are the essentials.

If there are not other reasons to avoid surgery then surgery usually makes sense, and 6 years old is about like a human being in his or her 60s -- not very old.
