Subject: Re: Hair regrowth

I'm not an expert by far but from what I've seen in my ferrets and others I've been around it appears that the hair growth "depends" on the individual ferret. I've seen some ferrets at the shelter that still haven't regrown any hair six months post op. I live in Florida so after Gabby had surgery in March, and then Squeakie (adrenal) had surgery in April I assumed that with the shedding season starting that they would be "baldies" all summer.
Gabby had a silver dollar sized spot on her side that was shaved and now you can't even tell where the place was. Squeakie was mostly bald from his armpits back and his hair -- what was lost to adrenal disease and what was shaved off -- started growing back with two weeks post op. Every day you can see a big difference in his hair. Soon we're going to change his name to "Hairy"!!
