Subject: Adrenal Post-Thank You!

"My vet opened her up to find out there was nothing
wrong with her adrenal gland, so he closed her up. If I had done a blood
test
I would have known she had a clotting problem and I could have avoided
sending her to her death for nothing. Till this day I hate myself for
sending
her in for a surgery she never needed. I loved her so much and I miss
her
terribly. My other ferrets grieved for her. She was only 3.5 yrs old and

should have had many more years here with us. I have read since Buddy's
death
that sometimes they never grow their hair back even after a successful
surgery. My vanity for my ferret ending up killing her. Holly"

Thank you Holly for this information I had the same thoughts for the
past two months.
At your suggestion, I did tell the vet to do whatever blood tests are
necessary prior to surgery.
I have brought him to two different vets for their opinions as well as
consult the leading exotic specialist in the area.
I tried melatonin without any ease to his symptoms.

I wouldn't care if his fur ever grew back he is still my "handsome boy"
and I tell him that everyday with lots of kisses.

But his adrenal symptoms of aggression, mounting and generally not
enjoying life at all it what concerns me. He is so obsessed with this
behavior, he hardly ever plays anymore and has to sleep alone because
none of my other ferrets can handle his adrenal symptoms.
His overall health is good but I can see signs of him declining. I've
been praying all day that I have made the most informed decision for
him, and I thank you so much for sharing your information with your
little Buddy. I should know in a few hours what the result is and I'll
update you then.
