Subject: Fasting
I need some quick info please. Is it normal to fast your ferret for 24
hours to insure thier stomace is empty? I thought thier digestive
tract was only 3 to 5 hours long? One of our fuzzballs needs to go to
the vet tomorrow. She was daignosed with upper respertory problems
Sunday by the emergency hospital and given antibiotics. At that time
she took an xray to check for fluid in the lungs as well as any
intestinal blockage/problems. Then this morning we found a new vet to
take our fuzzballs to on a regular basis. They looked at the xray from
Sunday and said that her little stomac seems to be very enlargeed.
That is why he want's her to fast before bringing her in for another
xray. So is 24 hours normal?
