I fast my ferrets 24 hours about once a week depending on the season
and what they have been fed and the status of the individual ferret.
They keep producing stools during most of the 24 hour fasting period.
They get a pure natural diet consisting of whole carcasses and
meat/organs/bone/fur. I feed them two meals per day, and the meals
are small enough for them to eat it all at once.
When my ferrets are spayed/neutered I feed them their evening meal
the day before but skip the morning meal the day of the surgery.
