Having said that, I think fasting a sick ferret for 24 hours is ridiculous
and could be fatal. Forgive me if I missed it, but I didn't see anything
about bloodwork on your post. What if the fert has underlying insuloma or
diabetes (I've had one of each). Their blood sugar would careen all over the
place on a fast and you could end up with a fatal seizure. If blood work
were done and we knew for sure that there was nothing wrong with the ferret's
metabolism, then I'd probably go for a 12 hour fast but I personally talk with the new vet.
