Hi, until the 70s 99.99% of all UK ferrets were fed bread and
creamy milk and if they were lucky the offal from the rabbits
they had caught that day. In the winter you can leave raw food
in with the ferrets all day but that can be dangerous in hot
weather. I never knew anyone leaving food in all the time
until dry food became available in the 80s. Ferrets are
suppose to slim lithe animals not the balls of fat that seem
to turn up at shows all the time these days. There is not
usually any meat left about after the morning meal but I
expect they find a few small bones to eat on the days they are
not fed. I know there is very little kibble hidden in their
court as I weigh that out before feeding it. Chris.
