Subject: Sad news Re:Very sick ferret (bladder crystals, pus, blood)

Hi all..

Due to my concerns with Phil not improving after the
48 hours that the vet gave him. I contacted the vets
office and then returned to the vets office. The
veternarian that has had much experience with ferrets,
found that Phil was non-neuroresponsive on his left
side (front and back paws, his stools were a darkish
green color as well as very soft.

The vet determined that Phil was probably suffering
from Renal failure, that we could do blood tests to
determine if this was the true problem. Unfortunately,
my finances at this time are not of anything to
venture into testing with and I did not feel that I
should put him through anymore than what has happened
in the last few days.

Around noon this afternoon, I went ahead and had Phil
put to sleep.

Thank you to all that tried to help, but I felt as if
I was torturing my baby by making him eat and drink
each day just to keep him going for one more day. I
also did not want him to suffer the full extent of
renal failure just for the purposes of him dying at
home.

I now need to focus on my very tempermental female
that tends to nip even at times when she is
unprovoked. Any suggestions in that department would
be greatly appreciated.

Thank you all,

Danielle

May Phil rest in peace and without anymore torment.
