Subject: Possible Adrenal
I have a 2 yr old female who has started itching alot. I have tried
Childrens Benedryl without much relief and have used frontline in
case she had fleas some how which has also not helped. I just lost a
ferret two months ago from insulinoma and lymphoma and do not want to
go through that again!!! Is anyone familiar with the glutanal
androgen assay at antac (not sure of the spelling of any of that)? i
believe it is in ohio or tennessee...it supposed to be a blood test
that will test for adrenal problems....my vet said that it is very
good and the vet that i work for says sometimes it will show positive
but alot of times it will show negative even though it is positive so
you really wont know for sure....so i dont know what to do....there
is a vet here in town that also does ultrasounds,,,so i do not know
which way to go or what to do or anything...are there any real good
tests that will test for adrenal problems??? i cannot bear to lose
another ferret.. i have only had two of them and so far both have had
problems...Please help!!!!
