My ferret went through a bladder stone ordeal about 5 months ago. He
had a severe blockage. Antibiotics or a catheter did not help. He
finally had to go through surgery. Our vet created a second permanent
opening just below his penis. He basically opened up his urethra at
its widest point and stitched it open. My ferret can now urinate
without problems and has not had any more issues with bladder stones.
It saved his life.
