Thanks for the recipe. Ears (I am quoting the vet) "Are the cleanest I have
ever seen on a ferret." He has no trouble keeping down food. I isolated
him last night in one of my cages, weighed his kibble and measured his
water. He had drank in 20 hours 2 .3 oz of water, ate very little if any,
and had a normal poop. H e eats his cheerios just fine, so I started to
wonder about his teeth. I scruffed him and looked really carefully, and
they are clean, at least the caps. I moistened kibble (Totally ferret),
added ferratone and olive oil, and he licked about .6 oz of my finger. I
will try again later. He is out playing with his family, as he was really
missing them. I have not tried pepcid or peto bismal (ulcer therapy) with
him, as his stomach doesn't seem to be bothering him. All my ferrets like
straight Vaseline, so they get an inch or so daily for hairballs. I am
going to try your recipe tomorrow and wait 2 weeks. I will then take him
back in for an official weigh (I use a digital postal scale) and if he isn't
gaining, then I will go for exploratory surgery.
