Subject: Re: Slippery elm bark dosage

Although, I started this thread about the elm bark, I do want to
reiterate that my ferret had been seen by a vet and is not on any
other treatment. There is evidence that elm bark will coat the
stomach thereby reducing the effective of absorption of other
medications. I would suggest that you speak to your vet before
starting with elm bark.

Also the slippery elm bark powders I am using are certified for
veterinary use. Maybe if you went to your vet they could locate a
similar product. The one I use suggests 1 teaspoon for every 10kgs -
but different preparations will probably have different dosages.

Tilbury has been on the bark powders for about 2 weeks now and his
energy levels have improved and so has his overall condition. I just
hope this continues.
