Subject: Prednisone usage
Hi,
I help out a disabled lady who owns a couple of ferrets, one of which is
insulinomic. During the week she has an aide that can feed the ferret and
give his 2mg/pred dosage twice a day. On the weekend, she has no help so I
go over an give him his baby food and pred once a day. My question is" Would
it be better to give him the full day dosage at 4mg pred all at once? I had
been just giving him the 2mg, but sometimes he is obviously "woosey" by the
next day. I am trying to keep the ferrets with her as long as possible, but
know I may have to take the insulinomic guy home with me soon. In the
meantime does anyone know if a full days dosage all at once would be
helpful? Going over there more on the weekend is not an option for me, she
lives too far away.
