Subject: Whining when pooping
Hi All,
Just wanted to check to see if anybody has any ideas on ways to help
with my situation. My adrenal/insulinomic 8 yo girl Maggie has
started whining when defecating. I'm pretty sure it is caused by our
feeding her chicken gravy which she loves and has helped us to not
have to raise her pred in the year she's been on it. The consistency
it goes in (watery, her favorite, or pudding consistency, which she
doesn't enjoy as much) comes out the same way, except sometimes she
has explosive poops (like explosive diarrhea). She also gets gas and
farts often. When she has to go, she HAS TO GO and sometimes doesn't
make it to the box nor even a corner. So I'm sure it's like when we
people have diarrhea and I hate to think that she's in that much
pain. Intestinal cramps are horrible! Sometimes her tummy is tight
from the gas and if I massage it, she will have to go to the
bathroom. Could she be allergic to the chicken? Could it just be the
consistency? Can I give her anything to "firm things up?" I just hate
to hear her whine and know she hurts when she has to go and I don't
know what to do.
Sorry to gross anybody out,
Stephanie
