Subject: Re: Whining when pooping
Hi Again,
I just wanted to give a few more details in case they help. Maggie is
currently on .4ml pred suspension (20mg pred to 60 ml ferretone) 3
times a day. The next step is to take her to proglycem/diazoxide
because the vet doesn't want to give her any higher dose of pred.
Yes, her tummy is hard/bloated a lot of the time and I try to massage
her when she lets me. I will definitely try the warm water routine.
Her feedings are 3 times a day (immediately following the pred to
help ther tummy and keep her glucose up). Our chicken gravy recipe is
just a whole chicken with bones and entrails cooked in the crock pot
with water overnight and then blended in the blender. We don't add
any vitamins or anything to the chicken. She also has cat kibble
(never would eat ferret kibble) available 24/7, but she hardly ever
eats it now that she get the chicken gravy.
There is no blood in the stool and the stool is normal colored, just
very runny and not formed at all most of the time.
We have a home bg meter and her bg has been stable around 70 with her
current meds.
Does this sound like IBD? Should I try turkey instead of the chicken?
Or maybe another meat? Should I get her to the vet ASAP?
Thanks for all your help!
Stephanie
