Subject: cataracts

Sundance is 5-6 year old rescue, who has been sick for a little
over a year. He had diabetes which self corrected after three
months of insulin, adrenal being treated with Lupron injections (not
a surgical candidate) and is now developing a cast to his eyes.
Does anyone know if cataracts are a symptom/result of adrenal or the
diabetes or should I be looking for something else. My vet seems to
feel we're living on borrowed time right now for my old guy and with
the exception of a rat-tail and a slight bonyness (is that a word?)
in his rear, he's doing so very well that I hate to go looking for
trouble, or stressing him out with more tests, but......

I know deaf ferrets have no real problems (have one of those) but
how do blind ferrets make out?
Any advice would be appreciated,
