Subject: Re: cataracts

I have a beautiful chocolate boy in my shelter now who has
cataracts at 2 years of age. He has a cagemate (hooded black) who
constantly chatters & I'm beginning to think he chatters to let his
buddy know what's going on around him.

I have watched these guys, the chocolate boy in particular. He has
had no problem. He figured out his surroundings quickly & navigates
cautiously. His hearing is exceptional & I talk to him first before
I handle him and when I go to pick him up, I let him smell my hand
first to let him know it's me. Yesterday he was even dancing around
albeit not as crazily at the rest of them do.

I wouldn't worry about a blind ferret at all.
