Subject: Ferret Dead Sleep & how much pred before it doesn't work
anymore

Hi all,
Here's my first ferret dead sleep experience.
I came running to my husband holding this tiny lifeless body
and screaming "oh my God she's dead".
When we rescued this little girl she bit to the bone and
wouldn't let go. She was a biter!! However we had calmed her
down sooo much. Anyway, my husband grabs her out of my hands
and gently shakes her. Then harder, etc. Next he gives her
mouth to mouth and she gave it right back to him lol. He said
he guessed he didn't think he'd be doing that again. Just
thinking about it cracks me up! It made a pretty hysterical
picture.

I have a young 3 year old male that has lympho and insulinoma.
He army crawls everywhere he goes. It is so sad to see this
poor baby but he still enjoys life so much. Ferrets are
incredible!!
He is on pediapred 1 1/2 cc morning, 1cc afternoon, and then 1
1/2 cc in the evening.
My vet told me this was about as high of a dose that would do
any good while another told me that they thought I could go
another 2 cc's spread out in the 24 hour time frame that I'm
doing. However he's not a ferret knowledgeable vet. Does
anyone have any ideas on this? I want to make my little buddy
as comfortable as possible while he's here. He eats Bob
Churches Chicken Gravy every 3 - 4 hours plus all the kibble
he wants.
Thank you for your time, Lois
