I would be concerned, but not overly worried about a SINGLE episode.
But if he vomits more than that, or there are other symptoms along
with it, then I would be off to the vet.
As for a hairball... I doubt that any amount of Laxatone (or similar
product) will help any if a hairball is large enough that it's
causing vomiting. But to answer your question, I usually give a 1"
ribbon, once a week. During shedding, a 1" ribbon daily.
Here's the real question: It's been what, roughly 72 hours since
introducing the new guy to the other ferrets? Is there any history
of ECE in your ferrets? At this point it doesn't really sound like
ECE, but if there are more symptoms to come, let us know.
