Our florinef for Pertwee (roughly 1,100 grams now, 1,300 normally) is
compounded into a liquid suspension and banana flavored. That should be
really expensive, right? Well, we pay $42 for a supply that typically
lasts two months. We do this at the local compounding pharmacy that
works with our vet's office. That's $21 a month. His dexamethasone
(also flavored) adds $5 a month to the tab.

All the best,

[I received a message from the person with the two ferrets since. They both had IBD as well as having lost both adrenal glands and both need very high doses to not go into Addison's crises -- doses well beyond what I've run into with our's. The treating vet whom she named privately to me is a highly reputable and careful one I respect. -- Sukie]
