Subject: Re: ECE?...Ulcer????????????????

Doesn't sound like an ulcer is involved, at least not by the symptoms
you've described. ECE... is there any history of contact with
another ferret (other than your own) around 48-72 hours prior to the
symptoms presenting? That would included contact by you handling a
ferret and then coming home and handling yours.

Green diarrhea just means the food is passing through her system too
fast to be fully digested. That's a pretty non-specific symptom and
could be lots of things besides ECE. Changing her diet twice (why?)
could result in some diarrhea. If she has what looks like birdseed
in her poop, which I believe is undigested fat, that's a sign of
maldigestion or malabsorption and is also pretty non-specific.

Personally, I don't rely on the "pinch" test too much for a check for
dehydration. It's really open to interpretation. I like to feel
their gums and if they're moist and slippery, she's probably not
dehydrated. If dry and sticky, dehydrated. Of course a vet check,
blood test is a much better way, but for a quick check, that seems to
be fairly accurate.
