Subject: Clyde today

Went to the vet today for Clyde. Good news. He gained
exactly a pound in exactly 2 weeks! He is almost 3 lbs now
and feisty! The vet looked at his teeth really carefully, but
couldn't even find enough tartar to warrant a cleaning. He
doesn't want to medicate Clyde for ulcers as he is feeling
good, so we are going to stop syringe feeding, and see if he
will eat the gravy on is own. If he maintains his weight, we
will try to switch slowly back to kibble. If he loses again,
he wants to do a stomach/intestinal exam.

Now the vet told me it is an amazing weight gain for a ferret.
He also said that a very sick animal would not have bounced
back so quickly. He doesn't want to medicate without cause.
Clyde did escape at thee vet and chase the office/blood donor
cat through surgery (luckily no one was on the table). I
guess he is feeling good.

Any suggestions/comments on the chosen method of treatment
would be greatly appreciated.

Gail
