Subject: Changing or just improving a ferrets diet.

I think even ferrets find plain meat pretty tasteless they
seem to take to offal far more readily than plain meat. I was
told that grinding up chicken, bones and fatty skin and adding
ferretone works. I start my kits on heart and kidneys at 3
weeks, after that they will eat just about anything. Just
remember that most of the vitamins and minerals are in the
bits we do not eat so carve the white meat off the chicken
carcase to eat yourself and give all the rest to your ferrets.
You really only have to feed twice a day when feeding raw as
ferrets are meant to eat meat, not kibble loaded with
vegetable protein and sugars. I’m not a “I only feed BARF” nut
as do feed kibble but like to vary their diet 3 or 4 times a
week. Can you imagine what it would be like to live on dry
cornflakes your whole life? Chris.
