Tenths of a percent differences! That is tiny! Humans and
chimps are about 4% different from each other. Yes, that is four -
- with 96% in common, if memory serves. (There is some brand
new chimp-human work on how turning on the same genetic
components to different degrees -- or not turning them on at all
for some species -- can account for further differences beyond
those seen with the current state of genetic knowledge. it's
exciting enough that it is making think about getting a "Science"
subscription with my fun money.)
