Subject: insulinoma & seizures

Mystik is acting quite sick now. She is six and it has been about a year
since she was diagnosed with insulinoma. She didn't have surgery for it, but
has been on prednisone. She also has cataracts so I do not think she can see
anymore. The past few weeks she has been acting strange, having little energy
and getting disoriented.

Yesterday she began to have seizures and didn't want
to walk around at all. She'd been doing fine until just a couple weeks ago.
Today she spent all day at the vet. She's here now with me and seems to be
doing at least somewhat better, but still has seizures sometimes, although
now she wants to walk around some. She is on phenobarb now for seizures as
well as prednisone.

The vet said she could either have a tumor or tumors in
her intestines that are keeping her from absorbing sugar and nutrients
properly or she could have a brain tumor...or epilepsy. He also said another
scenario is that she ate something to form a blockage in her intestine and
that it just needs to be removed for her to be okay. She still acts sick and
can't eat or drink on her own, so I have to feed her every hour. On Tuesday,
if she is feeling well enough the vet said surgery would be the best option.
If she has too many tumors and can't be fixed.. then the best option is to
not have her wake up again.. is what I was told. If she is doing a lot better
by Tues., though, then have to reassess things and see if she needs surgery
or not anymore.

Today I got Timmy's Tonic (an herbal holistic tonic for
ferrets) from ordering off of TheFerretStore.com and I have been giving her
as much of it as she will take hoping it will help her with whatever exactly
is wrong. If she does have tumors in her brain, though, I do not expect
anything could really help her. I am hoping that if it is tumors in her
intestines or pancreas that are causing her problems then the tonic could
help her recover and live longer. If they can help her would she show enough
improvement in 3 days? I don't know if anyone knows anything about
herbal/holistic medicine. Today I ordered Red Clover Formula from the person
who makes Timmy's Tonic. It is known as "the tumor shrinker" and I am hoping
it can help Mystik.

I do not want to put her through unnecessary surgery or
have the vet put her to sleep if he finds she has many tumors when herbal
medication could help heal her. I just do not want her to die if she can
recover enough to live happily. I am scared to put her through surgery but I
know she cannot continue living if she is sickly and cannot gain any joy from
living. I do not expect any miracles from holistic and herbal treatments, but
if they can help at all of course I want to try them. Thank you for reading.

If anyone could reply with any comments on my or Mystik's situation or what I
should do that would be most helpful. If you have any knowledge about The Red
Clover Formula could you please tell me how long the Red Clover Formula takes
to work and how long I should try it on Mystik to see if she can benefit from
it.
