If they go outside or live with animals who do then the fecal
becomes more important and checks for parasites like fleas,
ear mites, etc. make sense, too, so the living situation can affect
what is checked extra carefully.

I don't know if check-up may differ some depending on region,
certainly how much some preventatives are recommended may,
as we all know.

Your vet will feel organs, check coloration, check hydration,
check nodes, listen the heart and lungs, check teeth, check the
outter appearance for aberrations, look in eyes, smell breath,
etc.
