I believe I'd be getting a second opinion. How does this vet know
it's cancerous with just an x-ray? It doesn't seem likely that one
could tell positively just by seeing a mass on an x-ray. I'm sure it
could be, but unless you left out some details, it sounds like it was
too quickly pronounced "cancer, nothing can be done."
An exploratory sounds like what I'd want done just to know what's
going on.
