Subject: Lying Flat

I have an 8-mo old female ferret that has been doing something strange. This
is my first ferret, so I'm not quite sure what all her body language means yet!
Occasionally I will come into a room and find her lying flat, like a pancake.
Mostly she's flat on her belly, but sometimes she'll be a little on her side, with
her back legs out to one side. This usually happens when we've been playing,
and I've gone into another room for a minute. When I come back in, she's flat.
I've been assuming that this is her way of saying "here I am, waiting for you to
come back and play with me" but lately I've been wondering if it might be
something more. She doesn't spring up and run away immediately, but she
also doesn't seem to be unduly tired. Her behavior just seems so
uncharacteristic - she's usually on overdrive when awake! Is this normal?
