Subject: Re: prednisone level question???

Hello Sukie,
I too was faced with a similar question about 4
weeks ago! Although my ferret JACK does not have quite
the amount of problems that your ferret is
experiencing, I did raise his pred. as his episodes of
seizures were becoming more frequent and longer!
Jack has a blind and deaf companion that would be
lost without him and as mentioned in one of the other
posts, Jack watches out for Daniel, as he knows his
limitations! I thought for Daniel's sake, I would try
to keep Jack around as long as he had a comfortable
quality of life to share with Daniel!!!
The only problem in raising the pred for your
ferret would be her impaired immune system, you may
have to help her out with antibiotics and enzymes! I
had to start Jack on the antibiotics and he gets his
enzymes in his soft food 3 times a day!
So far he is maintaining a quality comfort level
and enjoys his food tremendously, always waitng for me
at feeding time! He guides Daniel around and they both
cuddle together and wash each other, hopefully for
some time to come, they may remain companions---Angela.
