Subject: Hairball & weightloss question
Ubu has been shedding for about a month now and he also started
losing a little bit of weight. I wasn't too alarmed because it is
Spring, but he's never lost or gained seasonal weight in the past.
Well, yesterday he barfed up about a 2 inch long, pinky width
hairball. My question: could the hairball have been preventing
thorough food digestion and causing the weight loss? He weighed 3 lb
3 oz before he started shedding, 2 lb 14 oz on 5/9/02, and 2 lb 8 oz
today. His behavior and activity are unchanged so I was wondering if
I should just wait to see if he starts putting on weight or should I
have a vet do some blood work, x-ray, etc. to see if he has more
serious problems??
