Your vet is thinking like a dog vet. Ten hours is much too long to fast
a fettet before surgery even on a ferret who doesn't have insulinoma.
Next time take his food away 3-4 hours before the surgery is scheduled
to begin. The latest thinking is that the raisin may be good for an
insulinomic ferret because the complex sugars are converted slowly and
help hold the BG level up.
