Subject: Re: Re: what are people feeding ferts around the world?

For the record, of the 5 ferrets I've had since 1993, the one
that lived to 8.5 (Newton) was neutered/descented at 6 weeks
(a Hagen ferret).

Mojo lived to 5 and Dobie to 6.5, they were littermates and
both were neutered at 6 months and not descented (local
breeder). (Moj was given to me by my friend (a heavy smoker)
when she moved away, he was raised on Iams kitten).

Fig is 2 and has been a pile of health problems lately, she's
a Hagen ferret, neutered/descented at 6wks.

Pesto is 7 months old and is a Marshall ferret, also
neutered/descented young. He was sold to me with an incomplete
anal gland removal which kept abscessing until we had the
tissue removed. I'm not an advocate of descenting for this
reason. They were good about honouring their guarantee.

This thread could lead to some interesting ideas, please keep
them coming and if you can, post the lifespans of ferrets
you've had/known.
