He gave me two

If the ferret does not have reasons that surgery would be
especially dangerous and the vet knows ferrets then go with the
surgery. When caught early about 60% of the cases are cured
by surgery (according to numbers that recently came under
discussion here so folks can do a bit of back-reading if need
be). The rest get extra quality time.
