Subject: Moose...Stomach achemystery

I've posted several times over the last several months about my 7
year old MF male, Moose. He's been grinding his teeth, stopped
eating and basically has been syringe fed for the last few months.
Vet weighted the poor guy last week, 1 1/2 lbs...he was always my 2
1/2 lb (+) guy. Every test was run, exploratory surgery, Amoxi,
Pepto, Metrocloprimide, Biaxin, Slippery Elm Bark, Kayopectate,
bland babyfood diet....god only knows what else we've tried. The
refusal to eat and teeth grinding continued.

The other day I was watching him...everytime I go near the treats,
he wobbles over and looks pathetic. I give him a treat, he eats it.
I give him 10 treats, he eats them. The other day, I went out and
bought Purina Kitten Chow...I guess the equivalent to ferrety junk
food...he's had his nose buried in the food dish since!!!!!!!!!!!!
The little SOB...I've been force feeding him for months now!

Anyway, the tooth grinding still persists immediately after eating.
Does anyone else have ideas on what might help to ease the belly
ache. I've checked his mouth and teeth and they do not seem to be
the problem. The slippery elm bark would help his throat if that
were the problem. During the exploratory, his stomach seemed to be
inflamed. I'm searching (and searching, and searching) for more
ideas on how to settle his stomach.

But THANK GOD, HE'S FINALLY EATING ON HIS OWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Amy.
