Subject: Need advice - hiccups/gagging
I'm concerned about my ferret. This AM she was playing under the bed when
all of a sudden she started making this weird hiccup/gagging noise. It's
persisted for the past 3 hours. It's not a cough, really it sounds more like a wet
hiccup. She convulses a little when it happens, and licks her chops. At first I
thought maybe she'd inhaled a dust bunny or something, but she even does it
when she's asleep. She doesn't appear to be distressed by it - she acts
normal, but it worries me. My husband has been sick lately, so I wonder if
maybe she just has a cold? Her eyes and nose look clear. Any thoughts?
