Subject: Fig

For more than two months Fig has had little or no use of her
hind legs (otherwise bright alert responsive). She had
evidence of IBD and has been on pred for three weeks. Her
granular stool improved but hind leg use didn't. It was often
so bad that she dragged her butt along on it's side. We took
her to visit a friend for the weekend and the night we got
there I took Fig out to shoew my friend how bad she was and
Fig took off almost as if there was nothing wrong (her hind
legs had been seless that morning). It is now 8 days since
that day and Fig is still walking almost normally. When sleepy
her balance is less than perfect, but I am stumped. Why would
she spontaneously inprove? Without a gradual improvement
either, it was like a switch had been turned on. Nothing has
changed (food, water, bedding, cage)

As I'm a vet student i would love to know what has been going
on with Fig so I can apply it in the future, but she's been a
mystery to everyone. If this sounds like anything you've
witnessed I'd like to know. Hopefully this is the end of her
problems. Rads were clear, lipase was only abnormal blood
value, proprioception was not normal. Visually it seemed
neural. As if her legs were asleep and couldn't move them.
Strangest thing. My vet doesn't know what's going on, I got
some tips online but haven't solved it yet.
