It's not unusual to get strange-looking feces when you change their
food. That's not usually much to worry about. The bird-seed
appearance is due to undigested fats.
What kind of food are you giving them? Iam Kitten may actually be
better for them than some of the lower-quality ferret foods.
They are probably also experiencing some stress from the new household
and in the case of your previous ferret, the presence of unknown
ferrets in the house. Stress upsets their digestion, too. That would
explain the strange feces from your previous ferret.
ECE is always a possibility when you introduce strange ferrets, but
since you haven't seen the bright green slime and everyone seems
otherwise healthy, you're probably just dealing with stress.
I am not a vet.
