Subject: update on Sherman with swollen gums but without a
noticeable tartar or plague problem
Thought that folks would want to know that Dr. Karen Purcell has
advised running his kidney values since kidney disease can cause
this. Figured that even if that isn't what is going on with Sherman
(and Steve and I sure hope that it isn't) that knowing this
beforehand might help another ferret get rapid care.
She also let me know that manutrition with a need for vitamin C can cause this, but in his case that is very unlikely since his IBD is well under control, he's been here for the better part of 2 years, and he is chunky (weight lifter build -- robust boy) and very active.
