Peanut refused ferret food when we got him from the pet shop. I went out
and bought fancy feast chicken and nutro kitten and made a duck soup
concoction and he ate it with relish. weened hoim off the soft foods after
he had been with us about 3 months and he started eating hard kibble on his
own. I kept him on the kitten food until he turned 3 and then switched to
Nutromax cat. Read in the FML that this was the best way to go if using cat
food. He seemed to thrive on it. His only treats were Cheerios (6 a day)..
never liked raisins.

We have our other 3 on Nutro kitten and they love it. They weren't big on
the ferret kibble either.

oh... and a caution about the dried fruit. One of our little girls got a
piece stuck in her throat last year and we had to rush her to the emergency
vet. By the time they got around to seeing us, it had softened enough to
get down her throat but it was scary and she went limp on us and couldn't
get the piece to go up or down. No more fruit.. they all get Cheerios only!
