Absolutely! I agree with you... to a point. I want to feed more of the
natural diet to my ferrets, but in all honesty, I don't know what goes
into a whole chick either. I have no idea which farm this chick came
from, what it was fed, what ingredients are known to be fed to chickens,
but I also don't know what unknowns are in the food either! Can anyone
precisely tell me how much antibiotic enriched diet this one piece of
meat has in it? How much filler? How much feces or other material
contained within? No. Even the pet food industry can't tell you that...
far too many variables. And the ranchers can't come any closer. Even
wild game has no guarantees as to the quality of the meat contained
within! Look at what they feed on...

Yes, we are the culprits, along with every farmer and livestock producer
too.

The fact is, that no matter where you live, we will never really know
all that is contained in the foods we feed our ferrets... kibble or raw.
There simply is no way to test every single chicken or piece of meat out
there. We are at the mercy of many, many people.

Bottom line: We need studies done in a carefully controlled environment
over generations of ferrets. Now, who wants to foot the bill?
