Subject: Cooked chicken/bones advice
Hello everyone,
this food issue has got me thinking about feeding more fresh
meat to my gang - even though they have cooked chicken several
times each week now.
I want to start feeding it more often, but realise that if
this is to become a big part of their diet, then I need to
start feeding the bones also!
I don't want to go down the raw food road, so whatever they
have will be cooked. I have a small hand mincer and when
chicken wings/backs are minced with this - the bones are
usually 2/3mm in size.
My question is Would this size bone (cooked) be a danger to
the ferrets? And...If not, then should I mince first, then
cook. Or, cook first, them mince? - due to the fact that
cooked bones can splinter.
Thanks for any advice and please feel free to e-mail me
privately jasperand4@ntlworld.com as I don't want to clog up
the board and give the moderators, even more hard work.
Thanks
Carol
