If there are clear signs and symptoms of adrenal and our vet feels
surgery is in order I let him go ahead. In each of eight cases in our
business an obvious adrenal tumor was present. My vet believes the
Tennessee Panel gives a result of "possible adrenal disease" all too
often, and he believes it to be a waste of money when the symptoms are
clear.

Ryo-Ohki's vulva never swelled, but she had adrenal carcinomas both
times. Romana had a swollen vulva but never lost any hair. Symtoms
vary from ferret to ferret, with each presenting some (but not
necessarily all) of the common symptoms.

If it were one of mine, I'd trust our vet and let him go ahead and do
surgery. Thankfully, so far, we've never lost one by making that
decision. We are blessed with an outstanding ferret veterinary surgeon
here.

Good luck to you and to Cindy!
