Subject: RE: Feeding Ferrets

(even though ferrets have been proven to be lactose intolerant)

I do not think this is correct, ferrets like people can become lactose
intolerant after weaning due to the loss of dedicated gut bacteria. As
milk is such a good provider of vitamins and minerals I make sure my
ferrets never become intolerant. Some breeders in the US have said that
tolerance to milk can be re-established but thankfully I have not had to
do this. Chris.
