Currently, the home page of the Ferret Health List has a good picture
of a ferret with cataracts, and a brief write up about them. If you

Cataracts are not uncommon in older ferrets, and while they can be
removed by a trained specialist, the proceedure is usually very
expensive. Most ferrets I have know of with cataracts adjust fairly
well, though, so removal is not necessary.
