Thcik black gunk looks like dried blood, but it the common ear
discharge when tehre are ear mites. Your vet has medications
for those and for secondary infections that can arise from having
them. Unless you are sure it's not that sort of discharge I'd have
the vet check.

Other things like a mast cell tumor are also possible, as is playing too roughly with a friend.
